It wont straighten your hair but try applying gel, it can keep hair out of your face.

Use hair spray to the the frizzness. i use herbal essence or treseme!! but that flay iron from conair isnt the best. You should get one that is gold plated and a bit more pricey!!

oh yes and wait till your hair is very dry to straighten it, Its not good to do that while its semi wet!!

How about keeping those curls on some days and using some great products so they are less annoying. At naturallycurly.com where I work we have products for curls and for the days when you want straight hair. AG recoil is great for curl activation and Cutler Straightening Creme for the other days. Have a frizz free day with either of these products.

If you want to loosen up your curl, you can try an S Curl kit in a mild strength.

You comb it through, rinse it out thoroughly, then use the shampoo to lock the hair in the looser state and the texture will last until you cut off your hair.

In fact, get a haircut first, then use the texturizer a few days later. Do not scratch or comb your scalp a few days before because you can burn your scalp.

Use it once in a while when you feel like your curls are too tight again.

You can find it in most drug stores.
