Curly hair (still not sure)?

ive asked a couple of questions on curly hair but im still not sure what to do. ive asked about hot rolers but it seems that these are very bad for your hair and seem tricky too put in.

curling tongs probably seem the best option at the moment but im still very concerned about damaging my hair as ive been using straightners for a long time now and its starting to get damaged.

could you please recomend the best way to curl my hair (loose curls) without damaging it too much and can you recomend any good heat protecting things for the future?

thanx xxxx

Well you could try rollers NOT heated rollers but normal rollers. You could get them in many sizes. If you want loose curls depending on how long your hair is you could get anything from a 1" to 2" rollers. Now the thing with rollers is that since they're not heated it takes time for the curl to settle and stay in your hair. The longer you leave it in the better. If you want your hair curled in the morning put the rollers in the night before but if it's for the evening put them in the morning and let your hair dry naturally after spraying it with hair spray.

If you want to protect your hair from damage it's going to take a lot more time to do your hair then what it took before because you want to do it as naturally as possible. But if you want it done faster you could still use the rollers but instead of waiting a whole night or day put them in and just blow dry your hair until its totally dry then take them out. I haven't tried it this way to see how well it comes out but I've heard it works. Remember when rolling your hair make sure its wet and to help the curls stay longer put some gel in it and then roll the hair. Spray it with hair spray and let it naturally dry out or blow dry then spray once more before taking out the rollers. You'll have to see what works for you so try different things. Depending on your hair type and how well it holds curls you might not need to use both gel and hair spray.

I have very naturally curly hair and I use straighteners and curling tongs. The best thing I have found to protect my hair from damage is a line of products called Silk Essentials from Sally's. They are not that expensive and they work better than the expensive ones I've tried. I use the shampoo, conditioning balm and the spray on heat protectant. Good luck!

If you can eliminate blow drying your hair, that will help.

Try washing your hair at night and letting it air dry and then use your curling iron, or a ceramic Chi device, as you normally would; with a good thermal styling spray product from L'anza, Kerastese or Zerran.

get a ceramic straightener, i have one and it keeps your hair very smooth and undamaged. try Chia or Corioliss bc they can also curl your hair very well

Get some plain old rollers at your equivalent of a dollar store, and do it the old fashioned way...shampoo your hair, and put in either gel or styling mousse. Then roll your hair in sections onto the rollers, and leave overnight to dry. Unroll in the morning. If your curls are still a bit damp, give them a light heating with a blow dryer and a diffuser.

use soft curlers. you put your damp hair in them and sleep with them in then in the morning you just take them out, its easy, only takes like ten minutes, and doesnt damage your hair because it doesnt use heat

i have naturally curly hair and what i do is i have it layored from the tim/mig of my ear to the bottom and i wash it and then while it is wet i brush it and put it in the towel so it will dry but it makes it more curly and then i take off the towel after ten min then i put through some mousturize for your hair then i blowdry it with a difuser and it really makes it curlier = ringlets not just frizz

if you have straiter hair then apply a molding putty or a thich gell while still damp qand use a curly difuser it willlllll make a difference

if you want curls, after washing your hair, comb it first, add some gel,and then take your hair and pinch it together,by hand fulls, then let it dry, either with a hair blower or natural, but keep pinching the hair to gather by hand fulls if your using a hair blower .It will dry with some curls. If you dry it natural, comb it a little with a pick,so it don't look like gels in your hair.

You should Always use a heat defense spray before blow drying, iron or curling. Hot rollers are no worse on your hair than blow drying. Always use heat defense. You can buy it anywhere depends how much you want to spend oin it. anything from walmart, dollar stores, to sallys or straight from your local salon. If its starting to get damaged I also suggest go to sallys and buy some alphagee conditioning treatment its great and will restore your hair a good amount.
