Hairstyles for natural curly hair?

I have naturally curly hair. Many people say they would kill for my hair, but its actually a hassal. I get knots all the time. And i use so many hair products that are bad for my hair andi end up getting rid of them. I always thought straight hair would be easier because i take showers at night before i go to school the next morning so how should i style my hair? SO CAN YA'L HELP ME GET SOME STYLES FOR THE HAIR?

Hairstyles for natural curly hair?

omg i used to totally be all about straight hair until i practically destroyed it. all i wanted was something easy to manage but heres the best tip if you want an easy pretty hairdo for curly hair.

mousse, its a god send.

what you do is when you get out of the shower brush it quickly and apply mousse (herbal essences totally twisted) while scrunching and your hair will curl without frizz and knots and all that icky stuff.

i do it all the time and i get complemented all the time so hope it works for you.

Hairstyles for natural curly hair?

Sounds like all you really want is a hair straightener.

Hairstyles for natural curly hair?

I have curly hair and YES it can be a real pain most of the time. To suggest haircuts would be hard because you haven't said: A) how old you are B) where you work

If you're a 50-something, you wouldnt want anything to cutsy as it will look like you're trying too hard to be someone you're not.

Where you work (i.e. an office) plays a HUGE role in what kind of hairstyle you should choose. Looking NON-professional in a professional setting really does affect how your boss relates to you and how others view you as being a good worker or not.

I used to ONLY want straight hair (anything other than THIS) but I've noticed that with the right products, and some effort, most hairstyles are possible. My hair isn't as THICK as it was when I was a teenager so I've come to appreciate that my curls add volume and fullness to my face. You may just need to be adding a defrizzing product and stop hairdrying/over coloring.

Good luck

Hairstyles for natural curly hair?

amazing! that description fits me EXACTLY! life is unfair in the way that curly haired girls would kill for straight hair and straight hair girls want the curly do'. honestly i am beginning to see that curly hair is sometimes better because it is easier to straighten than to curl, but curly hair is deffenitly a huge hassel when you want to just wake up, brush it quickly and go. i personally dont like my hair pin straight, so in the morning (i take showers at night) i quickly straighten my hair, enough so it looks decent but not so long that it looks dead and i am late. also try doves smoothing silk to prevent frizz and get rid of tangles and if you are straightening you hair a lot try to find a heat shield so you dont fry your hair. good luck :)

Hairstyles for natural curly hair?

a loose bun, half back with strong, good clips (scunci is a good brand with special grips to hold even the most unmanageable hair), french braided or loosely french braided after showering (when it's easier to manage hair), and french twists are all good ones to start with.

i included a link with a lot of images of different celeb's wavy or curl hair styles...some are easy some are hard

Straight or Curly hair for me?

I would definitely go with curly.....

Straight or Curly hair for me?

I think straight hair is more suitable for you.

Straight or Curly hair for me?

Go curly.

Not many guys have it.

It'll be individual.

Straight or Curly hair for me?

i think u'll look good in curly hair

My baby's hair is very curly, i have bald her twice. Is there anyway i can make her hair less c

Even after i bald her hair twice its the same curly, Does it make any difference if we bald hair? How can i get rid of those curly hair.

My baby's hair is very curly, i have bald her twice. Is there anyway i can make her hair less curly?

Darn...........leave the babe alone , my grand daughter has fabulous curly hair and would not dream of touching it.

When the child grows if she wants to straighten it isn't that her choice......... sorry not getting at u.

My baby's hair is very curly, i have bald her twice. Is there anyway i can make her hair less curly?

do not try till the baby grows up. it will only cause harm. After a few years u can do so.

My baby's hair is very curly, i have bald her twice. Is there anyway i can make her hair less curly?

there is one way to get rid of the curliness. a relaxer will make her hair straight. but you may want to wait until she has had her menses.

My baby's hair is very curly, i have bald her twice. Is there anyway i can make her hair less curly?

Why would you want to change your childs hair? When the baby gets older you can put a straightener in it to make it straighter, but right now your babys hair is going to keep growing in curly. Just find some totally cute curly hair dos that you can do with it, and stop stressing about something that you can't change right now.

My baby's hair is very curly, i have bald her twice. Is there anyway i can make her hair less curly?

you can use wheatgerm oil

My baby's hair is very curly, i have bald her twice. Is there anyway i can make her hair less curly?

why would you want to get rid of her curls? use leave in childrens conditioner spray or regular conditioner and with a comb and finger section the hair and make bigger curls like bannana curls...if or when it is long enough use the conditioner and make 2 piggy tails and make 1 big curl in the same way on each side. I did this with my daughter who didnt have terrible hair but glossy big curls that would get a little wild...when she was 3 she has 10 inch long banana curls on each pig tail....so very darling to look at.....now she is almost 9 and wanted her hair cut kind of short so ....now it has grown back straight.

My baby's hair is very curly, i have bald her twice. Is there anyway i can make her hair less curly?

Just leave her hair alone im sure its beautiful the way it is

...put some conditioner in it to keep it moisturised im sure she will be beautiful.

My baby's hair is very curly, i have bald her twice. Is there anyway i can make her hair less curly?

Curly hair is so beautiful, leave it till she is older. who knows you might want it curly by then or if you dont you can always straightn it.

My baby's hair is very curly, i have bald her twice. Is there anyway i can make her hair less curly?

Don't shave your poor baby's head! :o) Who ever said that straight is more beautiful than curly? Instead of fighting your baby's gorgeous natural curl, go with it. Set an example for her, teach her that the hair that she was born with is a perfect fit for her. It's spunky and really special! Don't make her dislike any part of her self, she is perfect just the way she is. Girls nowadays have enough trouble learning to love and accept themselves. Help her have a GREAT self image, instead of subconciously telling her that there's something wrong with her, or there's something she has to change.

My baby's hair is very curly, i have bald her twice. Is there anyway i can make her hair less curly?

what are you a sicko,,,some have curls some don't,,,maybe with age the hair will gain some weight or even grow out of it ,,,but balding her,,,cherish her for who she is ,,you @@##$%^%26amp;*(

My baby's hair is very curly, i have bald her twice. Is there anyway i can make her hair less curly?

no,they r natural

My baby's hair is very curly, i have bald her twice. Is there anyway i can make her hair less curly?

Let the hair grow, when growing curly will be more manageable and you just need to use moisturizers until is good enough to use chemicals or blower. Don't forget babies' skins are very sensitive and you don't want to harm your baby just for vain.

My baby's hair is very curly, i have bald her twice. Is there anyway i can make her hair less curly?

OMG.. dont do that! love your childs hair!

if you keep 'balding her' or whatever you wrote, the hair doesnt have a chance to get a little thicker and heavier, which would weigh the curls downa nd they wont be sooo curly/crazy.

leave it curly!!

poor kid!!

My baby's hair is very curly, i have bald her twice. Is there anyway i can make her hair less curly?

Just by excepting the fact that its not nappy, knotted up and very difficult to comb after it has been washed, but depending on how old she is it takes baby's till there two to get their true hair! Wait it out, you might regret balding your baby!

My baby's hair is very curly, i have bald her twice. Is there anyway i can make her hair less curly?

Cutting your child's hair till she's bald will not make her hair straight, no matter how many times you repeat this. You've already done it twice %26amp; you say it's still straight so you should know that this doesn't work.

Why do you desire your child to have straight hair? Accept the natural beauty of your daughter's curly hair. If you accept it she will too. Embrace her unique-ness!

To keep her hair heathy don't wash it everyday and try using Jojoba oil. Use a small amount, a little goes a long way.

Never use a brush on wet hair use a wide tooth comb. Hair is in it's weakest state when it's wet %26amp; can break.

My baby's hair is very curly, i have bald her twice. Is there anyway i can make her hair less curly?

What do you mean you "bald" her? You shaved her head?

Shame on you! You obviously have issues about curly hair, but don't take them out on the child. I'll bet it's adorable. Leave that child's hair alone!

My baby's hair is very curly, i have bald her twice. Is there anyway i can make her hair less curly?

Why would you even think of trying to get rid of her curls? Mind you, this is a BABY we are talking about. I cant believe you would go as far as making her bald. Shame on you!!! Too bad she isnt old enough to make her own decisions. Leave her curls alone. I am sure they are beautiful. My daughter is a year old and has curly hair. We absolutely love it!! Accept your daughters hair the way it is. And leave that poor baby alone!!

My baby's hair is very curly, i have bald her twice. Is there anyway i can make her hair less curly?

Stop shaving her head! There is no way to change how curly her hair is.Just accept it.Jeesh!

My baby's hair is very curly, i have bald her twice. Is there anyway i can make her hair less curly?

allow to grow long. curl hair wont go more curl. while it is long or make more headshave 6 months once

My baby's hair is very curly, i have bald her twice. Is there anyway i can make her hair less curly?

i think the hair gets less curly as the baby grows up

How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

My hair is naturally very straight, and I have tried everything to make it curly or wavy, but nothing ever works. I have tried leaving curlers in overnight with wet hair, but then I let it down in the morning and within 10 minutes it was straight again. I have also tried curling irons and LOTS of hairspray, but again it fell out in minutes. Any help would be much appreciated. Also, hairspray makes absolutely no difference on my hair, and I have already tried those shampoos that make your hair curly, but they don't work on me. What can I do?

How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

ok i have the same problem but i am also prone to frizzy hair, im affraid that the solution is quite long winded! heres what i do!

wash and condition my hair, put styling mousse on wet hair and then i use rags instead of curlers, basically cut a cotton sheet or piece of matieral into strips long enough to tie when you have your hair wound round it, seperate into segments and completely rag your hair, makes sure you do this in the afternoon, and leave the rags in overnight. make sure your hair is completely dry before taking the rags out, you will have beautiful ringlets that you can seperate with your fingers into long lasting curls, (do not use a brush or comb otherwise youll just have frizz!!) also another thing is not to use too much hairspray! it weighs the curls down making them drop, just a spritz of the strongest hold one you can find!!

good luck i hope this helps!

How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

put a curley perm

How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

ok well i have the same hair and it too me fever to figure this out but ere i goo...

keep the curling iron on untill its burning hot

then spray tons of hair spray on ur hair and curling iron

then start culing !!

alwayz wrk for me ! :]

good luck !!!!

How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

Try buying a really good hair mouse from your local salon.....

then part dry your hair apply a lot of mouse then dry your hair really slowly while spiralling it around your finger...........holding your hairdryer there while its wound tight

It works for me xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

Have you triend using mouse or gel? Put gel in your hair, then curl it wit a curling iron. Don't move te iron for a minute or so. Then let it unravel. If that doesn't work, be thankful you don't have frizzy hair this powerful!

How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

When I was younger I had really curly hair, and I lost it, unfortunately. My hair became straight but I did have a little bit of waves at time. A lot of years later I decided to get a perm and my hair is now really wavy and curly at times. I like it but I do miss when my hair is straight. Try a perm if you really truly want curly hair.

Hope this works

How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

your the same as me ,i put hairspray on my hair before i put the curlers in it stays for the whole day!

How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

Well if you really want curly hair and are willing to make it into a semi permanent thing, I suggest talking to your hairstylist about getting a perm. You can ask to have larger curls as opposed to the tight curly ones many think of when they hear perm.

You should love you hair as it is though. I have curly hair and when I was younger I wanted straight hair. Now I am beginning to appreciate the attributes of having curls :) Good Luck!

How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

You could get a curly perm. Thats what I'm going to do this summer when my hair is a little longer. My hair is the opposite of yours. It's wavy and a little curly. That's why I'm going to get a perm to make it all look even. You should try it. It should help and there's no way that it won't stay curly because they use all of those chemicals. You will just have to use a little bit of gel to keep it from being frizzy.

How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

you can get a perm...or...if that's TOO permanent for you...try having someone braid your hair very tightly (it might hurt a little depending on who does it). be sure to use gel and to have them do it when it's dry. take it out the next day. whenever i do this, my hair stays curly for days depending on how often i wash it. use gel when it's braid and you can use other products when you take it out to keep it from frizzing up. i prefer to get 2 french braids or cornrows.

How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

get a permé–³?br>How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

My daughter has the same trouble. We decided against a perm, so the hairdresser suggested washing and conditioning with the "curling" products, followed by a spray on product and a dab of mousse, we then use a ceramic curling iron and a light spray of curl booster. She sometimes sleeps in the foam curlers, but we use the products first and I slightly blow dry her hair once the rollers are in. By the next AM she looks like Goldie locks.

How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

Rub your hair in pure Lanolin. Leave it on as long as possible...two hours minimum.

Rinse with water...and blow dry.

If everything works out OK ...your hair will be like a sheep..very tight curls..

The problem is, if it is too curly, you will need to have your hair sheared (cut).

How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

do not use hair spray...! it only makes ur hair sticky......just use gel....(eco) is the best gel u can find, that makes ur curls last till next day....believe me.....if u cant find eco than use another brand,,,,BUT IT HAS TO BE GEL! try to find a number higher than 5 atleast,,,look for the level in the brand. when u get it take some in ur hands and put it on,put more on ur ends.. but ur hair must be wet b4 putting it on....not too wet.good luck!

How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

my hair is to get a perm it should help a lot

How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

I would get a perm

How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

OMFG!!! I have THE SAME exact problem as you do! It really does suck =\ What I do sometimes is before I go to bed I wash my hair, and towel dry it, then a put a ton of mousse in it, and scruntch it. Then I throw it up in a messy bun and let it out in the morning and curl it a little.

How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

Yep, I also have the exact same problem. As you have found out, none of the things you try help. The only thing that will make your hair wavy or curly is what is called a "wave" or a "perm". A wave is usually not as curly as the perm, but the chemicals used are the same. The hair stylist just uses larger rollers to process your hair to make your hair less curly. Depending on how fast your hair grows, you will have to have it touched up about every 4 to 6 months. Years ago this process was very damaging, and it still is not the best thing in the world to put in your hair, but neither is hair color. Talk to your hair stylist. She can give you the best advice about perming your hair. Hope you get the beautiful curly hair you always dreamed of....Good Luck.

How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

go to a good salon and tell them your problem ask them to recommend a perm and which products to use after letting them perm it

How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

try this:

when you get out of the shower, put your hair in pony tail. put one elastic at the top and twist it, then put one at the bottom. sleep on it and take it out the next morning when your hair is dry, and put hairspray on if you need it.

How to get curly hair? DESPERATE!?

get a curly perm

I have naturally curly hair and I want it to be straight for once! Any help?

I have the curliest hair you have ever seen. It's so curly that it's not ever frizzy when it's humid outside, but when I try to strighten it, well, that's a completely different story. It's always puffy. I always get puffy and frizzy and poofy and all that mixed up, but it buldges a bit and it gets majorly staticy which my mom thinks is the problem so I try hairspray and it works for about 30 minutes... I carry it with me, but then it tends to curl a tad. I have the Chi iron and the Chi spray and the Chi liquid stuff you put on your hair. I heard that silicone hair drops would help, but I'm not sure, because it's not really "frizzy" as much as it is "poofy" Would they help? What about Frizz Ease? Also, I have long hair that is one lenght. Would layers help?

I have naturally curly hair and I want it to be straight for once! Any help?

Hair sylists these days can actually fix that. Instead of getting a perm, people can get their hair chemically straightened. You may want to go into your hair dressers and ask what they think about it. It could be something new and exciting, i'd try it out. :)

I have naturally curly hair and I want it to be straight for once! Any help?

well to keep ur hair straight put some hair spray that makes it hard and stays in place

A question about naturally curly hair?

I have naturally curly hair that I blow dry and staighten every day. My problem is, is that it is really starting to look dry and I feel it needs a break from all this abuse. The worse problem: If I let it dry naturally it is really a curly and wavy out of control mess, especially in the front. I have tried chemical straighteners in the past and my hair still needed to be smoothed with a straightener. I have heard that if I get a body wave perm using bigger rods, my hair will then have a controlled curl that I can just wash and put in a little gel and go and the curls will look nicer. My question, is this true? If I get a perm in naturally curly hair, will it really smooth my curls to a much more controlled curl to where I can just wash it and dry it naturally and give it a rest from the blow dryer and straightener abuse?

A question about naturally curly hair?

I have the same exact problem! All i know is STOP using the dryer and straightener for a couple of months. I would prefer using JOHN FRIEDA CURLS shampoo and conditioner. Do not let you hair just air dry after that or it will get frizzy and your curls will not be a smooth and won't have any texture. Use a light curling gel like Pantene and then some moose from Aussie. Use about like a size of a quarter for each. Then let it air dry after that or blow dry it on low heat. Your curls will be looking so much better trust me after I did that I got so many compliments!

A question about naturally curly hair?

ok this is wat is do..my hair is just like u and for a long time i straightened it until it was all dry..first step GET A HAIR CUT!..serioulsy it happened to me i cut it all off..then i went got this anti poof shampoo conditioner and gel..i add that stuff then i add this anti frizz and this curl enhacer thing by bed head..and blow dry the bangs straight.then the back is perfect not poofy curls and the bangs and staight i think it looks realy pretty and it does get all dry

A question about naturally curly hair?

Embrace your curls girl! Curls are beautiful and everyone wants to straighten them and I have no idea why. I have curly hair as well that is fine, but I have a lot of it. I use the Aveda Be Curly line and it works great. They have shampoo, conditioner, a curl lotion and then curl control cream. I use the whole line and my hair is healthier then it has ever been. I let my hair dry naturally most days.. sometimes I dry it with a diffuser. Either way my curly hair looks very pretty and controlled with minimal effort and no damage like a dryer and straighter give... I would recommend Aveda to everyone. Expensive but totally worth it.

A question about naturally curly hair?

curls are much prettier than straight hair.

mousse mousse mousse it up!

get herbel essence SET IT UP mousse extra strength and scrunch your damp hair..then let it dry by itself.

if frizz is a problem, LEAVE-IN CONDITIONERs are good.

How I get really curly hair like Taylor Swifts?

I love taylor's beautifully curly hair, and i have naturally curly hair too, and ours is about the same length... but mine looks nothing like hers. And I know that her hair is naturally curly, but they touch it up and spruce, or diffuse, I dont know, but please help me get her hair!

How I get really curly hair like Taylor Swifts?

i'd say start with a shine serum/smoothing serum before your hair is dry... and then half dry it with a diffuser.

then put in a small amount of wax or pomade to your damp hair and it'll help hold the curls and they won't get frizzy.

(PS. i really like Paul mitchell and kenra products.) i think that salon styling products are worth the money. you only need a little at a time... even if you just try one. ask your stylist what would make your hair softer and mroe manageable i think they can help you out!

How I get really curly hair like Taylor Swifts?

Gel and Mousse. Use this gel by Pantene and this volume Mousse.

How I get really curly hair like Taylor Swifts?

You can get it permed..

But if you don't want to do that, you can also try using curlers before you go to bed at night after a shower..

You could also try crunching it with your hands.. when your hair is a little damp after getting out of the shower.. take some leave in conditioner and some hair syrum, and it will make it look naturally curley with out getting all crunchy. Don't use gel or hairspray cause that just looks gross..

This usually works best with somewhat thin hair, i know it works for mine.

Good luck. :)

How I get really curly hair like Taylor Swifts?

thats funny cause i've been trying to figure that out myself! i think they use a sprial curling iron to touch up her curls and add some shine serum.but im sure it wont come out exactly like hers.but im sure it'll come out good too.

How I get really curly hair like Taylor Swifts?

use curlers or use mousse.

How I get really curly hair like Taylor Swifts?

Use a curling iron. Take a peice of hair and hold it in the curling iron for about 5 seconds. While you are holding the hair there spritz it with hair spray (from a can). It takes a while. But the results are GREAT.

I have thick curly hair (it also gets puffy) Its very dry!!! how do i get it to have moisture?

Please help me!!! I have very thick curly hair as I said. I saw this shampoo for thick curly hair by Curlsrock what is the best? and do u know any ways to make thick curly hair less puffy!?! thanks.

I have thick curly hair (it also gets puffy) Its very dry!!! how do i get it to have moisture?

Moistureriser.

I have thick curly hair (it also gets puffy) Its very dry!!! how do i get it to have moisture?

once a week, deep condition it. this helps a LOT!!!!

I have thick curly hair (it also gets puffy) Its very dry!!! how do i get it to have moisture?

There are alot of products out there and do not do what they promise. I used to have this problem, then I started putting hot coconut oil in my hair for 2hours before I washed it and used herbal shampoos that were naturally known to moisturize such as Henna or coconut. It takes time before any drastic change is noticed, but it helps your hair from getting puffy and being dry.

I have thick curly hair (it also gets puffy) Its very dry!!! how do i get it to have moisture?

my hair is just like yours!

i use a product called "biosilk" and it makes your hair very soft and shiny and a little more easy to manage. After i put that in, i usually also put in some curl enhancer called "Umberto" brand curl enhancer.

hope I'm the best answer =]

I have thick curly hair (it also gets puffy) Its very dry!!! how do i get it to have moisture?

Wash your hair with moisturizing CONDITIONER (not shampooo), and leave it in. Dont rise it all the way out.

And I add gel and hairspray in my hair it keeps the poof down all day. I also like Aussie leave-in mousse it doesnt make your hair feel stiff or crunchy. Biosilk is really good too i love it but its expensive its like $12-15 i think?

I have thick curly hair (it also gets puffy) Its very dry!!! how do i get it to have moisture?

Which shampoo is best for curly hair varies from person to person. Experiment with different brands until you find one that you particularly like - make sure it's formulated for curly hair. Also, get a good conditioner for curly hair. Probably the same brand as the shampoo.

When styling, use a curl cream. This will tame and hydrate your curls.

Don't blow dry it unless you use a diffuser extension. This will dry out your hair more.

Also, if it's mainly the ends that are dry, it may be time to get your hair trimmed. There isn't really anything else you can do about dead ends and it'll keep your hair healthy.

Hope this helps! =)

I have thick curly hair (it also gets puffy) Its very dry!!! how do i get it to have moisture?

use coconut oil. comb it through after showering with a wide tooth comb. leave it in as long as you can. it moisturizes a lot and smells great!

I have thick curly hair (it also gets puffy) Its very dry!!! how do i get it to have moisture?

Beat an egg in a cup of milk. When it foams, rub it into the scalp.Leave it on for 5 minutes. Rinse the hair thoroughly with water.Carry out this routine twice a week for excellent results for dry damaged hair. Check out http://solutionsfordryhair.blogspot.com/ for more info.

I have long and very curly hair and I would like to have a new and modern hair cut (getting it too short is NOT an option!), any suggestions or sites that have options for this kind of hair?

Hair cut for curly hair??

i to have very curly hair, and the best look for me is to have layered so the curls will curls instead of a wave.

Hair cut for curly hair??

I agree with the gist of jay-jay's point, which is, it's all about the hairdresser - the right one can pick the right shape for your hair based on your face shape %26amp; how thick/curly your hair is. That has been my experience with my wavy/curly hair, which has various sizes of waves %26amp; curls in different parts.

Hair cut for curly hair??

Long layers.

Hair Salon for Curly (Shakira-like-curl) Hair in Oakland County, MI For Cut?

Hi everyone, I am here searching for a great hair salon in Oakland County, MI (Birmingham/Troy/Waterford/Novi/Commerce... W. Bloomfield). I have very curly hair, med/dark brown w/dark red tint. I'd like to try something close to Shakira's cut in the "Don't Bother" or "Hips Don't Lie" videos - she is just the easiest person to relate style to with my hair, we have the exact same type of curl. If anyone can refer me to a good salong for a great cut, I'd greatly appreciate it! Thank you so much!

Hair Salon for Curly (Shakira-like-curl) Hair in Oakland County, MI For Cut?

Unfortunately, I do not live in your area. However, I would HIGHLY recommend that you search for a Jennifer and Company in your area. They are the best for hair because they seem to be able to do anything you ask with ease. My family and I have a amazing success with them. Just so you know though, they are a bit more on the expensive side, but if that's not a problem you should go get your hair done there, as well as your nails!

Good luck, sounds like a great hairstyle!

Whats the best hair style to accentuate curly/ wavy hair?

I have curly hair, its not ultra curly but it looks like a loose perm. I have long hair which i normally straighten but im sick of doing this so i want to be natural and curly. at the moment my long thick hair drags the curls down, i want to keep it long but how do i keep it long but curly at the same time? what style do i go for and what do i tell the hairdresser?

Try some hair styles on this site

Whats the best hair style to accentuate curly/ wavy hair?

me too. well what i do is just push it all back and put a head ban over it so it is ok.

nice soft fingerwaves or twist to the scalp and hanging in the back with some wet and wave lotion.

Whats the best hair style to accentuate curly/ wavy hair?

Try a bit of mousse on your hair and scrunch it up after washing.

Or, perhaps have a few longish layers cut into it. Keep it long underneath, but layer it a bit on the top and at the sides. Not too much though or you may end up looking like Slash from Guns 'N' Roses back in the 80's.

Or, how about getting it styled something like Jennifer Grey had it in Dirty Dancing?

Ask your hairdresser to cut long layers into your hair. This will enable you to keep your length while making your hair have a bit more bounce.

Whats the best hair style to accentuate curly/ wavy hair?

Layers will set your curls free! The style that you seem to me to be describing, is a long, layered cut. This is one of the basic cuts that all hairdressers must learn. To do it, the hairdresser will first cut a section at the top of your head to the length that she wants the shortest layers (a guideline), then will begin sectioning the rest of your hair vertically, and combing the section up and using the guideline to cut the layers. Because the hair is all lifted above the head, this cut naturally produces layers that are longer at the bottom than at the top, which allows for maximum curl release.

That means that the first cut the hairdresser makes (at the top of the head) is the most important. You need to decide ahead of time how long you want that layer to be, because that's how far above your head she'll lift the other hair to cut and it will determine more than anything how your hair looks. Remember, you can always ask her to cut more, but she can't glue it back on, so ask her to err on the side of length.

Another note: If you want the best results, don't go on a weekend or during a lunch hour. If you can go on a weekday midafternoon, when the shop is at its slowest, the hairdresser will be willing to give you much more time and attention.

Whats the best hair style to accentuate curly/ wavy hair?

hey, tell your hairdresser to give it a deep conditioning treatment, to protect it from the heat damage, then ask her fror a 'hair relaxer' which basically means that shele relax the curls but u can still have it straight, its not cheap, but definatly worth it!

Whats the best hair style to accentuate curly/ wavy hair?

I have the exact same hair type and it's past my shoulder blades.

Here is what I recommend.

Go to a stylist and tell them that you want your hair layered. Layering really helps accentuate curls, it helps them from being all bogged down at one length-the curls won't get stuck together.

I generally use any shampoo and conditioner that is specifically formulated for curly hair that you can find at the general store. Some of the ones I use: Ganier Fructis for Curly Hair, L'Oreal Vive Curly Hair, Pantene Pro-V for Curly Hair.

As for product, most of the time I use product that goes along with the rest of the line of shampoo and conditioner. But sometimes I mix and match. I generally tend to buy 3 things, 1)something that cuts down on frizz 2) something that defines curls and 3) leave in conditioner (specifically Pantene Pro-V leave in conditioner for Women of Color) this last product you can apply and not worry about anything else-it takes care of the two steps in one. But again, I like to mix and match and not stick to one routine.

Ideally, the best way to dry curly hair is air-dry. But that is not always practical so either buy a hairdryer that has an diffuser attached to it or you can buy a diffuser for your current hairdryer. Having a diffuser is key for having curly hair. When you blow direct air onto curly hair, it causes it to frizz and curls become less defined. When blow drying hair, use the highest heat setting and low to med. speed.

Also nice is a medium-sized barrel curling iron to help define curls.

When you are finished-try not to touch your hair for the rest of the day. Continous touching can make it frizzy.

Now if it's going to be particularly wet and damp I usually apply something that is a silicone based product- John Frieda's Frizz Ease Hair Serum is great. The whole John Frieda Frizz Ease line is great for curly hair, but I just happen to be poor. :)

Good luck!

Whats the best hair style to accentuate curly/ wavy hair?

get some of the weight taken out of it or ask for layers this will help make it curly and also makes it easier if you want to straighten it or you could flick it out to give it a 70`s look there is actually quit a lot you can do with your hair if you get this done hope this helps!

Thick curly hair VS sleek straight hair?

Why is it when people see my hair they say I'm so lucky to have thick, curly hair. Yet anywhere you look, girls with sleek straight hair are the ones guys like better?

Thick curly hair VS sleek straight hair?

I have wavy and wish mine was straighter. I think people just want things that they don't have. Those with straight want curly and those who have curly wish it was straight. The grass is always greener on the other side they say.

Thick curly hair VS sleek straight hair?

I've also got curly hair... It's because there aren't alot of people who have curly hair.. since most people have straight hair it's considered "popular" and cool...

Thick curly hair VS sleek straight hair?

You sound like my spiral-curled daughter! I think curly hair is great!

Think about it: why do people with straight hair get curly perms? They want curly locks! Just ENJOY (and use a good conditioning detangler!).

Thick curly hair VS sleek straight hair?

Curly hair is nice but gets tangled easier than straight hair. I like straight but i don't having to use a straitnimg iron or a curling iron.

Thick curly hair VS sleek straight hair?

cuz those with sleek straight hair dont like guys looking at them...

Thick curly hair VS sleek straight hair?

you`re probably too busy staring at the girls with straight sleek hair to notice all the guys staring at you and your thick curly hair. :D

Thick curly hair VS sleek straight hair?

sleek straight hair

Thick curly hair VS sleek straight hair?

GIRL, I'M EXACTLY IN THE SAME SITUATION. all my friends and family whine about my hair, and me being so lucky, when all the guys are facing the straight haired girl. check my profile and c how much trouble my hair's giving me.

Thick curly hair VS sleek straight hair?

I have the same problem, I feel your pain Ugh

Curly Hair but I want it strait!?

I have curly hair and I want it to be starit but whanever it is strait I had to spend an hour or so doing it! Do know of any hair products that can make my hair stariter? PLEASE HELP ME!!!

Curly Hair but I want it strait!?

hey, i have the same problem, and i suppose if you want it done straight and pretty cheap, than get straightening serum--i use paul mitchel superskinny-- and it makes my hair really soft, or you could just go to like walmart or somethin and try out john frieda's serum, its not as good tho, but it depends on how curly ur hair is!! so go out there and experiment!! good luck!

ps-you could also try blow drying ur hair after getting out of the shower, than put it up in a low pony tail, and then take it out later and straighten it...it is easier. Or if your in more of a hurry...take a shower at night and then blow dry....then straighten in the morning!

or better yet...try and embrace your curls...us curly haired girls usually do look better with curly hair... :)

Curly Hair but I want it strait!?

get your hair japanese straightened-- it lasts for 6 months and you wont believe the results!

Curly Hair but I want it strait!?

honestly... if you have curly hair, there really are NO products that can just magically make your hair straight. you'll have to straighten your hair EVERY morning using a CHI ceramic hair straightener (or a comparable CERAMIC hair straightener).

if you really want to avoid having to straighten your hair everyday, you might want to see a hair stylist at a GOOD hair salon and have them relax your hair. i would recommend doing the japanese hair straightening because it lasts until your hair grows. (:

Do the Jonas Brothers all have natural curly hair?

Do the Jonas Brothers all have natural curly hair?

Nicks hair is naturally curly, so is Kevins.

In their life story magizine, it says that it takes kevin... ( their hair stylist ) 45 minutes to straighten Kevin Jonas' hair.

But yeah Joe's hair is naturally wavy :)

Do the Jonas Brothers all have natural curly hair?

They do all have some kind of natural curl. Although Joe's hair isn't AS curly as Kevin and Nick's.. it's more wavy, than curly. I personally like Nick's curly hair! It's different.

Do the Jonas Brothers all have natural curly hair?

I think they do.

How to get curly hair back to curly?

I have natural curly hair.. but I have been straightening it a lot... and I want the curls back in.. I try curly shampoo it helps but not like how my hair was naturaly before.. can someone help me.. and tell me how to get it back naturaly curly?

How to get curly hair back to curly?

Get a perm.

How to get curly hair back to curly?

I dont think u can, just get a hair curling thingy

How to get curly hair back to curly?

try a curl activator

How to get curly hair back to curly?

perm it haha!

How to get curly hair back to curly?

I think you'll just have to not straighten it for a while and give it time to rebound...

How to get curly hair back to curly?

braid your hair first then set your hair in water thats just been boiled then dry, unbraid and gel thats what my sister did

How to get curly hair back to curly?

This may sound gross but I use shaving cream. Its thick and it holds natural curl better. When your hair is wet put some shaving cream in it and scrunch with your hand while blow drying it on low.

How to get curly hair back to curly?

ok, when your hair is mostly dried after getting out of the shower, run mousse everywhere through your hair. then, scrunck it. do anything, squeeze your fists through it, whip your head around, fluff it, you'll figure out how to make it curly and volumized. but don't forget to use hairspray!

How to get curly hair back to curly?

My hair is also naturally curly. I just wash and condition it and while it's soaken wet, I add some Frizz Ease. I towel dry it a little and add Frizz Ease moose and Perfect Curls spray.

You might have to do this for a while to re-train your hair.

Silk Therapy is good too.

How to get curly hair back to curly?

give it time. you have straightened it so long. that you have pulled out some of the curl. but it should rejuevinate back to it's naturaly state in ad few months.

How to get curly hair back to curly?

you should get a hot oil treatment... and wash it with conditioner. leave some condtioner in, but you shouldnt straighten it for atleast 2 weeks or so

How to get curly hair back to curly?

I think you may have to cut your ends a bit to give it a little bit of life. You may also want to try Pantene Pro-V Mousse for Curly hair. It works for me.

Interracial/curly hair?

So here's the deal. I'm interracial, and have hair that is very curly. When I shampoo it, it's so tamed, but once it dries, it poofs. It has plenty of defined curl, but the poof ruins everything! I use Pantene products, a difuser, and I've tried Suave gel, but it doesn't work that well. In the fall/winter, I flatiron it pin straight, and it looks awesome. But in the summer, I like being easy on my hair, especially since I'm a huge swimmer. So, in the summer my hair is not flatironed, but pulled back in this tight bun. But I want a style that isn't so hard on my hair for the summer. I'm looking for products that really work. Thoughts please!!

Thanks!

Interracial/curly hair?

well take it from a hairdresser, pantene hair products are a big no no especially for racial hair. pantene is full of wax fillers that coat the hair shaft and make it shiny but the wax weighs down the hair and breaks it. the breakage contributes to the poofy factor. you should be using a good salon product that is a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, like biosilk, paul mitchell or matrix. the biolage line is also very good. also make sure that you are using some sort of protective product when you flatiron your hair to protect it from the heat of the iron so it doesnt burn. again the biolage and biosilk lines should work well for you. hope that helps.

Interracial/curly hair?

I am not Interracial, but I have hair just like yours. If you don't put any product on it you will look like Tina Turner? Ha Ha, I can totally emphasize. What I would suggest is Mousse. It has saved my hair life. Gel is too heavy and flakes way too easy. Also try not to wash your hair everyday, the natural oils that your hair produce will help keep down the frizz without putting a bunch of product on it. Hope this helps.

Colleen

Interracial/curly hair?

I am mixed like crazy myself and I found that the best product that worked for me was New Era Hair Relaxer. It completely took out my poof and extends your curls so you can have your hair out curly or straighten it 10 times faster with less heat iron time on your hair...girlll..it worked awesome on me. it has no hydroxide or thio in it and its so gentle your can relaxer over it again..try it.

Interracial/curly hair?

hi there, i know how it feels sometimes to have curly hair for i have very curly hair too. applying a really good conditioner helps a lot. Garnier conditioners and L oreal conditioners are really good. After youve taken a hair bath with the conditioner and when ure hair is half wet, you can apply some gel and curl ure hair up neatly into little bigger curls and it looks really beautiful and attracts a lot of attention! one more thing is that if you let ure hair to dry by itself without using a hair dryer , ure natural curls come up and looks good!

Interracial/curly hair?

Use K-Pak shampoo %26amp; conditioner. Use biolage mousse. That works for me!

Interracial/curly hair?

I USE TO HAVE THAT PROBLEM UNTIL TODAY ...I WOULD TRY ALL KINDS OF CURLY HAIR PRODUCTS...

SO HERE'S WHAT YOU DO FIND A GOOD ETHNIC HAIR SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER MAYBE SOFT SHEEN CARSON BECAUSE ITS MADE ESPECIALLY FOR ETHNIC HAIR ..A GOOD CURLY HAIR SHAMPOO MIGHT WORK TOO.. OK SO THE KEY TO WEARING YOU HAIR CURLY WITH OUT THE AWFUL DRY LOOK IS MOISTURISE MOISTURISE MOISTURISE ..AFTER SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONING WHEN YOUR HAIR IS STILL WET TO THE POINT WERE IT HASN'T BEGAN TO DRY BUT NOT SOAKING WET PUT LOTS OF MOISTURISER IN YOUR HAIR PREFERABLY AN OILY ONE...THEN PUT A LITTLE BIT OF GEL ..AND WHEN ITS ALMOST DRY REPEAT THIS ONE MORE TIME AND YOU SHOULD BE GOOD FOR THE REST OF THE DAY

I have curly hair and side bangs?

First i'd like to let you guys know that my hair is black down to themiddle of my back and very thick and curly. It's one length except for my bangs which are side bangs (parted to the side and layered), which I straighten everyday. I will not straighten my hair because it takes up about 3 hours to straighten and burns my already dry hair. If you need a picture of my hair for reference the link is: http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=4leu6wj .. anyay, my question is, do any of you guys have any ideas on how I can style my hair (not how to cut it, just different ideas on how I can wear it) without straightening mor than my bangs?? Thanks for your help!

I have curly hair and side bangs?

take the front sections from each side and make two braids... one on each side. fasten then at the back with a knont of a barette... but leave the rest of your hair long in the back. Lauren does this a few times on the Hills... it looks really nice.

I have curly hair and side bangs?

Your hair is pretty. :]

You dont have to straighten your entire head, just the side bangs are okay.

You can always just do that bump people do, that looks cute with side bangs.

Also, you can leave part of it up, and part of it down.

I have curly hair and side bangs?

put it up........with pins it looks nice and is easy and simple

Natural hair, front not as curly?

I haven't permed my hair in about 16 months and it gets curlier as it grows. I will be going in for the big chop sat. but have noticed that the front of my hair isn't as curly as the rest. Is there anything that I can do about that. Since I haven't cut it yet, I'm not sure how well the shampoo and coditioners for curly hair will help with this issue. Any ideas?

Natural hair, front not as curly?

I have about the same problem as you. My hair is curly but the front doesn't curl as much. Try curls rock by Catwalk. It'll make your hair curly all over.

Natural hair, front not as curly?

just wait till you get it cut it. unless you want to perm it or get better shampoo?

Natural hair, front not as curly?

use herbal esscenses shampoo for your hair. use the new curl product.

Natural hair, front not as curly?

will have to get it permed again...its been a long time since u have had it permed so new hair is growing in that isnt permed. u could always try putting mousse in it after its wet and kinda crunch it with ur hands

Natural hair, front not as curly?

After 7 yrs of going natural I made the mistake of getting a perm and my hair broke off badly after a year. So it's been about a year now for me since I've had a perm (starting over). My hair is the same, lovely curl in the back and nearly straight in the front with only a slight wave that quickly goes away when my hair dries. Unfortunately that is your hair texture. As it gets longer the front should get a more noticeable wave, that's what happens to me. If this is your first time since you were a child letting your hair go natural I would suggest going to the library or book store and getting books on african american hair helped me out alot. I've tried the shampoos and conditioners designed for European hair to get a curl in the front. Doesn't work. A moisturizing shampoo and conditioner worked better to keep the moisture in the hair, the curling stuff was a waste of money.

Natural hair, front not as curly?

Hi. Congratulations! Its always good to hear people finally letting go of the relaxers. Its so weird when you first do it because you think people are gonna laugh and stare at you. Trust me, the more your hair grows, the more you will love your natural hair (not that you dont like it now, but still). Dont you just love the freedom?

As far as your hair goes, my hair is like that too. You have to remember the front of the hair is always exposed to environmental elements, like wind, sun, you know. Thats why the rest of the hair always looks healthier. Its not a problem though. For me, my curly hair has different textures to it and thats normal too. Just do the big chop.

www.qhemetbiologics.com

www.curlicious.com

www.urbanbella.net

www.treasuredlocks.com

www.nasabb.com

These are curly hair product websites that I like because they have less chems or 100% natural in them and they dont have mineral oil and petroleum, which retards our hair growth. Look at them. Also look at their hair care tips on each website, if they have. There are also 2 other websites you should look at.

www.growafrohairlong.com - relaxed, natural and braid hair care - even though the author's relaxed, she has naturals who have used her crown and glory technique with success like myself.

www.motowngirl.com - this is strictly for naturals, I like this one too.

Here are a few curly girl tips:

1. When you shampoo, only do so 1x/week and only to your scalp. Most people dont know that its not supposed to be applied all over your hair...thats why your hair feels dry.

2. If you need to wash hair often, do a condition rinse, it means washing hair with conditioner only.

3. Im sure you know to comb with a wide tooth comb and to never comb or brush hair when dry. But if you have a good conditioner, you can fingercomb it, which is what I do. I havent used a comb in a long time.

4. Look at the shampoo regimen on the crown and glory method. They have a great way to wash your hair. Remember to NEVER RUB YOUR HAIR.

5. I NEVER use a towel. This causes frizzies. I just gently squeeze out water and then while wet, apply a moisturizing cream in sections of my hair. The one I use is from curls.biz called whipped cream. This along with the water helps to seal in moisture.

Hope this helped you. I gave you more info than you needed because good info should always be shared and passed on, especially since it worked for me. Create your own regimen and stick to it. Dont forget to take multivitamins too, and a good hair vitamin with biotin in it for an even healthier hair growth, along with fruits and veggies and lots of water. God bless.

Natural hair, front not as curly?

Honestly, you won't really know your hair texture until you do the big chop. Actually, I am also natural and my hair is the completely opposite. The back of my hair is WAY looser than the front. After you cut your hair, you will see the difference and as it grows it may even change, like mine did. Check out nappturality.com - it is a website that caters to natural hair.

Curly hair that bunches up?

my hair is curly past the shoulder length but it bunches up really quick and in tight curls what hair style can i do and how can i keep my hair from bunching up?keeping it hanging in natural curls.

Curly hair that bunches up?

nothing really get a perm

Curly hair that bunches up?

A lot of gloss serums can calm it down, but they contain silicone and I am not sure how your hair responds to silicone. That said, try using some olive oil sheen spray on your hair when it is wet and before styling. Not only it is healthy for your hair, but it also keeps the hair down.

Curly hair that bunches up?

Well you can use a light hair straightener or when you're finished taking a shower blow dry your hair while you pull lightly on your hair. Hope this helps ; )

Curly hair that bunches up?

The most important thing to remember if you have curly hair is to keep it moisturized! This will prevent if from bunching up, frizzing or becoming tangled. A fantastic product line for curly hair (of every texture) is from Miss Jessies. The products are designed to be used in various ways, so for instance, if you want your hair to look more wavy than curly, there is a technique for "stretching" the curls. If you want them curly and bouncy, they have a product for this too. Miss Jessies products are available on their website.

Curly hair that bunches up?

Straighten your hair with a hot comb or flat iron.

Curly hair nightmare! Help need Advice?

if i was my hair i get extra curly hair then if i flip it upside down to blow dry then flip it back up it looks like an afro.

if i let it air dry it gets even more frizzier than before.

If i straighten it it looks fried.

What should i do for my hair??

Curly hair nightmare! Help need Advice?

The worst thing you could do to our hair is get a blow drier near it! Wash your hair with a good moisturizing shampoo like Redkens Smooth Down Shampoo. comb through your conditioner in the shower before you rinse(you'll use a lot less conditioner and it is easier to get any knots out of your hair) Towel dry your hair and use a gel or smoothing balm like Ringlet by Redken, comb it through your hair and then scrunch and move your hair to how you want it to dry. Then DO NOT touch your hair until it is completely dry. if you want to fluff it a little you can scrunch it up. Whatever you do, do not brush your hair!

Curly hair nightmare! Help need Advice?

Use conditioning, styling hair gel. Apply when wet. comb through with a wide-tooth comb into the shape you want your hairdo to have, and then scrunch it with your fingers, to accent the beautiful natural curl you have. THEN let it air dry, and it will be smooth and beautiful.

Curly hair nightmare! Help need Advice?

use suave leave in conditioner thats wat i use

Curly hair nightmare! Help need Advice?

My daughter has curly hair. She got it from me. Let me give you a suggestion. Try using a shampoo and conditioner made to help straighten curly hair like Sun Silk to straighten curly hair (It's in a purplish bottle). Also, use their Sun Silk cream after you wash and condition/towel dry it. Then you can use your blow dryer to dry your hair while brushing it straight down. It'll take out alot of the curls and your hair will still be soft. Also, if your hair looks fried after straightening it, your straightener may be too hot. Make sure you have a good quality straightener, my daughter says it definately pays off. They cost about 40-60 dollars, but do a better job than the cheaper ones. You can still have beautiful hair! Good Luck!

I need [curly] hair ideas!! [girls only]?

Can someone please give me any ideas on how I should do my hair?? [I'm a girl] I have sort of longish, dark brown, curly, frizzy hair. I always tie my hair into a ponytail, and I'm tired of wearing it like that to school EVERY single day. Sometimes I wear it down, but then later on during the day, my hair gets all frizzy and puffy and all messed up. So do you know any cute hairstyles I can wear to school. I don't want to straigthen my hair! I don't have time. [I don't have time at night either]

Thank you!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D

I need [curly] hair ideas!! [girls only]?

do a half ponytail or cut it shoulder length and do big curls

I need [curly] hair ideas!! [girls only]?

Curl your pubes

I need [curly] hair ideas!! [girls only]?

A "half ponytail" looks cute.

Pull the top layers back in a barrette or clip, then let it hang down over the bottom layers in back. Looks very cute %26amp; keeps it from all poofing out all over.

I also have long, brown, curly, frizzy hair!

I need [curly] hair ideas!! [girls only]?

If you know how to braid. Loose braids are good. They stay in and at the end of the day they are supposed to look messy...... thats a hot look.

I need [curly] hair ideas!! [girls only]?

well even though you dont have time...you should make time it seems like the only way but straighten it! it will look good. And dont use gel to flatten it..your hair will look greasy (not good!) and blow drying your type of hair would only make it worse...most likely

although you mite want to get some kind of an defrizz or aerosol spray (I FIND JOHN FRIEDAS FRIZZ EASE WORKS BEST) so your hair wont get all messed up by the end of the day

I need [curly] hair ideas!! [girls only]?

Regardless of the type, texture, length and condition of your hair, you can achieve curls.

I need [curly] hair ideas!! [girls only]?

Hi. I would recommend in using a Curl Definer creme by Matrix, it would define and give more smooth curls, that's not frizzy looking.

- Do some small twisties, with hair still down.

- Do side part with twisties.

There is so much you can do. Good luck!

I need [curly] hair ideas!! [girls only]?

From a cosmetologist point of view your haircut is the most important issue. an annual cut is every four to six weeks. maybe you should look into long layers. it tends to give curls life. then try bed head (TGI) for curly hair. Curls Rock shampoo and conditioner. curls rock complete line of products are wonderful for unruly curly hair. you should also purchase a diffuser to help dry the curls perfectly. keep in mind you don't have to wash your hair everyday. you could also hi lite life into your hair or twist it up in the front as a fashion statement

I need [curly] hair ideas!! [girls only]?

put moose on it wen its wet...if u just got out of the shower, wait for alittle bit so it'll stop dripping, like 5 or ten min...and straighten a peck on the front...LIKE THIS%26gt;%26gt; example...%26gt;%26gt; http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h205/b...

How do i get my curly hair to have no volume!?

I have curly hair and my hair has a whole lot of volume and i hate it because i always end up striaghtning my hair almost everyday so that my hair can have less volument. but now i want to keep my hair curly but i can not stand that volume...i want like no volumene curly hair BADLY! so any advise will help...aslong as it is not striaghting or any chemicals usage.

thanks!

How do i get my curly hair to have no volume!?

-Read the book and visit the sites below about curly hair. I did and my once horrible curly hair is now virtually frizz-free ringlets. Now I get compliments on my hair all the time! Straighten your hair- be happy for a day, learn to manage your curly hair- be happy for life!

- To style your hair using the curly-girl method you will need gel and conditioner at the minimum. Some less useful, but still nice stuff would be a blowdryer, a diffuser, butterfly clips, and a microfiber hair turban.

-The main philosophy of the curly-girl method is to not use shampoo. This may sound unhygenic but it has actually made my hair less oily and dandruffy. Shampoos contain some of the same chemicals found in laundry detergent. They dry out curly hair.

- Massaging of the scalp with conditioner to remove dirt is all that is needed. Then rinse and spread conditioner on the outside layer of hair and the hair at the nape of your neck. Gently comb tangles out with your fingers or a wide toothed comb and rinse. It is also important to use gel on sopping wet hair and scrunch the hair- this will elongate the curl and decrease volume. Then let your hair air dry or use a blowdryer with a diffuser.

- I really like the garnier fructis sleek and shine leave in cream and Tressemme clean hold gel, but there are more conditioners, gels, etc. on the websites. Frizz-ease hair serum is pretty good for fighting frizz.

- Your hair may seem worse at first, but it is just adjusting. This takes 2 to 4 weeks begin working. This is hard to do if you don't read the book, or at least visit the websites. Naturally curly hair can be beautiful! Hope this helps!

How do i get my curly hair to have no volume!?

mousse

How do i get my curly hair to have no volume!?

Have you tried having your stylist cut your hair into layers? That might thin it out and take out some of the volume.

Also, try some pommades to weigh it down a bit. Perfect Results makes a nice one.

And if all else fails, a very mild relaxer might give you what you need. Chemicals aren't the end of the world, just a last resort.

If you have curly hair, Is it supposed to break often when you brush it out?

A few days after my hair is washed, I brush it out thoroughly. Because it's curly, there are a lot of little "knots" which form, which is normal. When I brush it out, I hear a lot of hairs breaking. How can I avoid that?

If you have curly hair, Is it supposed to break often when you brush it out?

detangler.

also, better conditioner.

and you should bring a comb//brush in the shower with you.

after you rince the conditioner, brush it our in the shower.

If you have curly hair, Is it supposed to break often when you brush it out?

condition ur hair to make it stronger. use a comb with fat/wide teeth so ur dont pull out so much hair

If you have curly hair, Is it supposed to break often when you brush it out?

No, it shouldn't. You should use a soft brush first and then a comb. You should also get some kind of detangling spray. Kenra is a good one.

If you have curly hair, Is it supposed to break often when you brush it out?

Comb your hair with a wide tooth comb while you still have conditioner in your hair, and condition it (and comb it) every day, still only shampooing 2-3x week max. Also avoid harsh products with any form of alcohol in them or that are too sticky-- creme products are best for curly hair though you need to use more for them to be affective.

If you have curly hair, Is it supposed to break often when you brush it out?

You should brush you hair straight after washing it in the shower maybe, this will prevent it breaking. You shouldnt try to brush your hair through whilst its dry, because of the reason you said it will break.

maybe you could also try using a different conditioner, and treatment for after washing your hair, Cerum is what i use just a tiny little bit an it helps :D

If you have curly hair, Is it supposed to break often when you brush it out?

I had the same problem when I first got my curly hair until I got a better conditioner. I'm using the Pantene Pro V for Curly hair and i LOVE it! There's a good detangler too in the collection. Along with a wide-toothed comb, my hair is fabulously curly :)

If you have curly hair, Is it supposed to break often when you brush it out?

If you have curly hair, you shouldn't brush it at all unless your hair is wet or in the shower. Since your hair is curly, your hair cuticle is lifted and when brushing, it lifts the cuticle up even farther. This causes your hair to get more nappy so they away from those brushes. Hair breakage can make your curly hair look like an even bigger mess.

If you have curly hair, Is it supposed to break often when you brush it out?

I have curly hair as well. I suggest brushing out your hair when it's wet...say, after a shower or something. Use good conditioner...and plenty of it. Not too much, but enough to get those knots out and make it silky smooth.

After it dries you can brush it out with your fingers.

If you have curly hair, Is it supposed to break often when you brush it out?

If you are brushing your hair while it's wet, you are doing a great deal of damage. You should NEVER use any kind of brush on wet hair of any type. Use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and a wide-toothed comb or a large pick to get the tangles out of your hair. Start at the ends and work your way up to the scalp. Before you brush it when it is dry, use a serum such as Biosilk Silk Therapy, Framesi " by" (Be Yoursefl) Slush Gloss, or CHI Silk Infusion and make sure all the tangles are out before you use the brush. Also, you may need a trim of the ends of your hair to prevent it from splitting up the hair shaft and breaking off. Hope this is of some help.

If you have curly hair, Is it supposed to break often when you brush it out?

I would have to agree with most of the answers already. I have curly hair too and I sometimes don't completely wash out the conditioner or I leave it in the entire time I am in there just so it soaks in the moisture. I don't leave a whole lot in that it would make it greasy looking or weigh it down...just some that will help brush it out. And I use a wide tooth comb as well...it definitely helps or a huge paddle brush sometimes too. Try taking the comb in the shower and when you use your conditioner...comb is through for a little while then put it up and continue with the rest of your showering agenda then rinse...the steam will help too.

If you have curly hair, Is it supposed to break often when you brush it out?

No, its not "supposed" to break off but I've had the same problem. Try Aveda deep penetrating revitalizer (conditioner) and aveda cherry almond bark conditioner mixed together in your wet hair when you shower and then use hair mayonaise or shea butter products in your hair. The aveda products can be a little expensive but it really helps tame my curly mane and the shea butter (natural products) keep my hair from breaking so much.

Can you tame a mane of curly and poofy hair?

ok so as I said i have curly hair, and yes it is frizzy and poofy (naturally duh!). I love my curly hair and i don't understand why girls straighten theirs because its great and a lot of people curl their hair just to get what you got. Plus people are jealous. ;) Either way I just want tame it without have to plow dry and damage my hair. anyone have any suggestions? i already use avacado oil once a week for moisture and about atleast two defrzzing products a day.

Plus i have to ask how many of you have curly hair? How many of you want curly hair? And how many of you love curly hair?

Can you tame a mane of curly and poofy hair?

I have curly hair and although I hate it i've learned to live with it..the way i tame my hair is dont wash it everyday, maybe like every other day.condition everyday though.then after you get out of the shower put a cream leave in conditioner and wrap your hair in a towel while getting ready...then when youre ready to leave take the towel off and voila!your hair will be almost dry and the curls will be soft and bouncy

Can you tame a mane of curly and poofy hair?

My daughter has very curly hair...I've tried every product on the market to tame her dry, frizzy, poofy, tangled hair. Took her to the salon, and they recommended Pureology HydrateShampoo %26amp; Conditioner, also followed by RedKen 5th Avenue NYC (Fresh Curls) curl refiner. It's an anti-frizz detangler for unruly curls. I tell you this, it's the best product I've tried so far %26amp; I'm sticking with it. Her curls were tamed down, and looked fresh, not dry %26amp; brittle.

Hair highlighting for curly hair?

I have long curly hair and im wanting to highlight it, the directions say to braid your hair and then apply the highlighting mixture. But i like to straighten my hair from time to time so will this effect still work good on straight hair too?

Hair highlighting for curly hair?

Both dying and straightening your hair is not a good idea. It has been a long time since I highlighted mine, but I sure did not have to braid my hair. What are the directions for short haired folks who can not braid it?

Growing out curly hair?

I had my hair really short, like a boy cut for several years. It looked really good with my facial features. but I kinda want to grow it out. my hair is naturally curly. Right now it is about four inches long, and I don't know what to do with it. It looks pretty "afro" at times. I try to to finger curl it like a 20's type style, but I don't always have the time and it's getting pretty thick. I haven't had it cut for several months. I'm unsure about going to a salon, because I don't know what to ask for, and they are usually pretty clueless when it comes to curly hair. they usually butcher it. I guess I need to know a standard cut to ask for. I like 20's style. I am pretty clueless when it comes to fashion/hair. I can't find anything online. Please help if you can. It's looking ridiculous.

Growing out curly hair?

Have you tried hot rollers? I would try using large rollers, I know your hair is already curly, but a large roller would make it more of a wave and not a tight curl. Another idea would be using a curling iron and instead of wrapping your hair around it, use it to straighten it.

Growing out curly hair?

I had this same problem. I have super tight, thick curls and went short like a boy once. I swore I would never do it again! I used relaxers to keep it straight and looking decent while I waited for it to grow back. You don't have to go that far though. Maybe just a flat iron will help it look sleek and straight (and not so wild) while your growing it out. Once it gets to a lenght that your happy with, then you can go back to letting it go wild and curly.

Curly hair....help!!!?

so my hair is really curly, but it's long and thick. are there any curl pros out there that can tell me about products to keep your hair looking wet all day and help weigh it down a little to make it not look as curly???

Curly hair....help!!!?

I have the same problem,, all you have to do is make sure you condition your hair well in the shower so when it dries it's silky, soft, and manageable. Also, what works well is to put a leave-in cream (not spray) in while your hair is still damp; it controls the frizz, contains the curls, smells NIIce, and keeps your curls touchable.

If your gonna use gel, a good brand ( for black ppl hair ;) is isotope or sumthin i think,, its really dark brown, and holds well. It also gives you that wet look that you want. U can find it in the black ppl hair section at shoppers drugmart.

Good luck with yer hair , yur gonna look HOTTT

Haircut 4 curly/straight hair?

i have naturally curly hair that i straighten about 2-3 times a week during the school year. but this year i want to be able to leave it down%26amp;curly too. im gettting my hair cut tommorow and i was wondering how should i get my haircut so it wont poof up curly or just hang there when i straighten it. ( when straightened its a few inches below shoulder, curly=1/2 inch below shoulder)

Haircut 4 curly/straight hair?

Hairdresser here.......I would do some long layers......maybe have it cut toward your face.......if you like curly.after shampoo........put you a lil gel in it.......use some of the claw clips and pull up hair in sections with these clips.......just the top layer works.....when it gets almost dry.pull clips out and throw hair over head and kinda mes up.......then tame down to your likeness......this is a messy kinda style with volume....

Curly or stright hair?

Guys, do you like girls with curly or stright hair, and when I say cury hair I mean really curly hair, not just like waves. Would you like a girl with curls or not?

Curly or stright hair?

Whatever makes you most comfortable because I as a guy am attracted to girls who feel comfortable enough about themselves to not take themselves to seriously! The type of hair is not so important, it's about what makes you BELIEVE IN YOURSELF

Curly Hair Advice. Help Please?

Im 18 years old now. I am bi-racial and so is my 2 year old son. I Cut my sons hair last summer because it was long and curly which made him hotter then it was. well after it started growin back out i noticed that it wasnt growning like it was before. He had long perfect curls before and now they only curl when its wet. And I also had long curly hair when i was younger and it was cut and never really grew back the same. Is there anyway that i can grow it back out or is there certain products i can use to get it back. help

Curly Hair Advice. Help Please?

if I were a black guy, I would just cut my hair really short. It brings out your masculine facial features better too.

Curly Hair Advice. Help Please?

I have had off and on curly hair my whole life.

WHen I was younger, I had curly, then it went straight, now its curly again. You can try using products like curly hair shampoo...but it will eventually go curly again.:)

Curly Hair Advice. Help Please?

Its not different because you cut it and its not growing the same, it is different because a childs hair changes as they get older. It happened to you and now it is happening to your son. It should eventually become curly again on its own.

Curly Hair Advice. Help Please?

you can use some curl activator. it is sold at most drug and department stores.

Curly hair and i need help?

my hair is naturally curly but i straightend it about 2 years ago and i wanted to get my hair curly again but i say this one lady with really big full loose curls and i wanted that again but idk what to ask them i dont want to mess it up and not liking it at the end of it

Curly hair and i need help?

If your hair is naturally curly, you don't have to 'get' curls, they'll just come when your hair gets wet. If you mean you got magic straight, then that only lasts 9-12 months. You can use a curler, or rollers. For big curls, use big rollers and leave on the for a very long period of time, like DAYS, but a curler with a big barrel will work good.

Curly hair and i need help?

tell them exactly what you told us. say you want full loose curls, and probably just at the ends. don't go to a cheap salon, go to a professional because they will take more care of you and it is much more foolproof and hygienic.

Curly hair... i dont know what to do with it.. help me...part 2!?

well everybody gave me good tips but i dont want to straighten my hair i love it curly. so if anyone has any good tips for managing curly hair with out having to straighten it ... you will be my hero!!

%26lt;3

please and thank you!

Curly hair... i dont know what to do with it.. help me...part 2!?

i hear you!!! I have way curly hair, like ringlets, and sometimes it can be a pain.

first off: don't wash your hair everyday. You really don't need to wash your hair more then twice a week. Because curly hair is dry naturally, it needs the natural oils in your scalp to keep it moisturized.

Don't use a brush to untangle your hair.. it tends to create more frizz. Use a plastic, wide tooth comb. Also when you wash your hair, after you put the conditioner in, comb through your hair and then wash it out. Tangles will be gone!

Don't towel dry your hair (like don't twist your hair in the towel or rub your hair with the towel). That will also create frizz. gently pat or blot your hair with a towel. Then let it air dry or use a diffuser.

Style with moouse or gel. Make sure to rub it in your hands like you would rub lotion before you apply to your hair. Turn your head upside down while scrunching your hair. Let air dry or use a diffuser.

Try and get a deep conditioning treatment once a week. That will help keep your hair soft and moisturized.

Don't style your hair (e.g. ponytails, braids.. however you like your hair) until your hair is dry or almost dry. When you do that, it will hold the curl better all day.

when you cut it, get it layered. It makes all the difference in the way your hair looks and it makes it easier to take care of. Have it thinned if you need to.

Whoo!! I hope that helps. Embrace your curly hair. People would kill for the hair we have. I love mine now that I know how to handle it. I tried to straighten my hair for awhile and it just wasn't the same. Curls are awesome!!!

Oh yeah take a look at this site. It is all about curly hair!

I love it.

It's great for frizzy hair... get the platinum silkening gloss. You can also use if for your skin and bath. It's amazing! Heat application promotes optimum shine and condition

Curly hair... i dont know what to do with it.. help me...part 2!?

Try condition it with a simple beer!the hair is looking great, becoming manageable with Hollywood style curly!!! Thats what i always do now, and all my friends noticed the difference.

And don't worry about the smell, just rinse it properly. And you don't have to do it every time you wash you hair, once or twice a week is enough.

So give it a go and i promise you great results!!

It's much cheaper and more natural than conditioners, and it heals your hair. Since i found out about that, my straightener is resting under the bed :-)

Curly hair... i dont know what to do with it.. help me...part 2!?

I have naturally curly hair, and for a long time I hated it, people would always say " God i'd pay to have your hair" and they do(I.E. perm) Then I found a hairstylist who knew exactly what to do, and has been cutting my hair evry since!! Depending on how long it is(mine is just past my shoulders) You want LONG LAYERS- have the stylist start the layers at about the bottom of your ears, and continue the layers all throughout your hair, but remember LONG LAYERS!!! Then whether you decide to style it( Wash, put leavein conditioners in-protect from styling- then add a good gel, or mouse and scrunch, turn head upside down and blowdry all the while scrunching, flip back over and do the same on the top- if tou have bangs either leave curly too or take a curling iron and do a flip curl by pulling straight and then curling up at the end(really cute w/ curly hair) whalla you have a beutiful mane of vivacious hair, drives men crazy, woman are jealous cause they have to pay for our hair!! OR with that kind of haircut you don't have to style every time because the layers help control it, just add conitioner, or frizz ease to keep frizz down and go!! I promise from one curly head to another you will love it!! If your hairs shorter, layers is still the way to go, just make sure they are LONG LAYERS!!!! Good luck! Remember it's hard to find someone who knows how to cut curly hair!! Your the boss though, tell them exactly what you want!
