Help for curly frizzy hair?

I am 13 years old, caucasian, with shoulder-length dark brown curly hair down to my shoulders. I have a huge problem with frizz. I get breakage really easily and the shorter pieces always curl differently than the rest of my hair or don't curl at all and fall on my curls so it looks poofy. My normal hair does this too. It gets really dry and poofy and I have tried multiple products and none seem to work. i am thinking about getting layers again, with side bangs that I would straighten. Would this look okay? Also, what products should I use for the frizz and dry/dullness? And also, what cut would make my hair look less triangular? Oh, and does anyone have any solution for how to make curly hair grow past the shoulders? Mine hasn't grown down in forever, it just grows outward and gets poofier. Help me PLEASE!

Well, I have the same hair as you and what I do is I usually wash it and then braid it and go to sleep. In the morning when I wake up, I take the two braids out and usually my hair is still wet. Then, I take gel and I scrunch it into my hair.

You could also use a diffuser or a curling iron to help get rid of the poof.

Layers in my opinion are fine because i just got layers like 2 weeks ago and I think they are good. I think they will help get rid of some of the poof because you will have less hair because it is not all one length anymore.

I was always thinking about side bangs but in the end, I decided not to get them because they would react like your normal hair and poof.

Serum helps a lot with frizz and you should also probably buy a shamppo that says it helps with frizz or get a shampoo that defines curls.

Lastly, to me it also feels like my hair is not growing at all but you probably think that because your hair is curly and it is harder to tell if it is getting longer compared to staright hair.

I wish you the best and I hope this helps!

Good luck! :D

Often a misconception about frizzy hair is to wash it everyday. To get more hydration and water in it, right? NO! Never wash your hair daily. You should deep condition it, and rinse with only water, shampooing 1 or 2 days a week. Washing your hair daily will dry it out significantly, and can slow growth. i used to wash my hair daily. When I stopped washing it, it grew alot. Another thing that would help is something called "deep hot oil cleansing". It's pretty much hot castor oil on your hair...but it locks in moisture. And it's cheap!

To get sleek curls, use a product called Mixed Chicks. It's specifically marketed for biracial hair, but It can be used for any curly hair. it makes your curls so shiny, bouncy, without gelling them out!! http://www.mixedchicks.net/

If you intend on getting layers, keep in mind you'd have to straighten daily. Layers would look really bad in curly, frizzy hair.
