So I use to have real curly hair...and then I straighten it with a flat iron and ive been doing that for 2 years or so....and now when I let it air dry it is not curly just wavy...is that becouse ive flat iron it so much? or am I just growing out of the curly hair?

OMG ME TOO. THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME. MY HAIR USED TO BE SOOOO CURLY THEN I STARTED TO FLAT IRON IT LIKE EVERY DAY FOR TWO YEARS. NOW HEN I GO TAKE A SHOWER AND COME OUT IT IS A BIT WAVY. AND IT SUCKS CUZ I AM IN THE STAGE WHERE I LIKE CURLY HAIR. IM 12 SO IM SAD CUZ MY HAIR WONT GO BACK TO NORMAL.

It depends. It could just be that in the 2 years your hair has grown longer. The longer the curly hair the less curl there is. I have curly hair and use a flat iron. I doubt that it is that. I have used mine for more then 5 years off and on.

maybe it just got longer, and pulled the curls into waves. Possibly, it could be changes due to your age or hormones- I dont know how old you are.

Hi. Trust me. You were flatironing too much. The more you flatiron, the more you are changing your hair texture. I dont think you should do that so much because it will damage your hair, if not now, in the long run. I think you just need products to use that will enhance your curls. Most people I've encountererd straighten their hair because they dont know how to maintain their curls. Look at their hair care tips. They have good info. You can also take a look at other answers I have given to get more info you might need, since I dont really know what you need. If you stop straightening your hair, when new growth comes in, you will see your natural curly hair coming back. But if you continue to straighten often, you will regret it later, no matter what heat protectant products you have. Hope this helps. God bless.
