I have naturaly curly hair and need help?

I have naturally curly brown hair and i when i get out of the shower i usually wrap it in a towel and let it sit for a while, Then when i take my hair outa the towel i usually scrunch it and let it dry and everytime my top of my hair is more wavey than curly and underneath its supper curly how can i get the top of my hair to be as curly as the bottom? I sometimes use mouse for curly hair but it still dont make the top curly. Please is thier sum product i can use that will work?

You need to flip your head upside down as you scrunch and use a hair dryer to dry your hair faster. This will give you even curl coverage.

Do you let it dry after you scrunch it? Try diffusing it with a blow dryer. I have curly hair also and do pretty much the same thing as you. I thought the top looked flat for a while, but I put mousse in it and scrunched and left it and shortly after it curled.

Cut the top hair shorter. Make it extremely layered!

Well maybe you shouldn't put it up in the towel, and either let it air dry or blow it dry.... Maybe you should put the mouse in it then dry it.

Ultra Sheen or Afro Sheen either one will work!

Thanks, RR

towel dry it as soon as you get out of the shower. Use a defuser and blow dry it. that should help a little more. The reason why it was wicked curly on the bottom and not on the top was because you had to twist it, thus undoing the curl and streaching it out. Before you go out and spend money just try leaving it out and towel drying it without putting it into a twisted towel

Try black gel. A company called motions makes some. Don't use it every day it could break your hair off. Also wet your hair and apply the gel and then let it air dry. wait until your done with the shower because if you wrap it make your towel really dirty. Hope this works.

Try straightening it and drying it before scrunching...it'll curl more evenly and it'll stay longer.

You can those foam bendy rollers and let them sit and that should do the trick!

Bend over so your hair is hanging straight down, then dry it (not completely, just until it's barely damp) with a diffuser, scrunching the top as well as the rest of the hair.

Here's a great site with styling and product tips for curlys:

i have naturally curly hair too and i have this same isssue sometimes too.... i recommend that right after you get out of the shower you take your towell and and just keep scrunching your hair until its somewhat dry and then put get on ur hair it totally defines my curls and helps add volume.. good luck =)

I also have naturally curly hair and I have the exact same problem. No matter how much products you put in it if your hair if it is to heavy it will not curl on the top. When I cut the top of my hair in layers making it shorter on top it makes it more curly on top. Try shorter layers on top all around and that will give you more curls!

First, the towel out of the shower isn楹搕 helping. From the shower bend over and just use your fingers to comb it a little. Scrunch it up with a gel, and let it dry naturally. This works for me. Layers help to, but so few stylists can cut curls that the salon scene is such a drag.

Use John Frieda's Curl Defining Liquid. I use it while my hair is damp and it looks good when it sets.

Even the natural curliest of hair gets looser at the top due to the heaviness of having longer hair. You should consider a perm only on the top part of your hair. Also try not to use hairspry or gel up near the roots. You can try to hide this for the meantime by using barrettes. The only other option is to lose some length.

I have the same problem..the top gets weighted down thats why it doesnt look as curly..try getting u some boosting products matrix is good..thats really all i know ....good luck

I think a layer long or short would help. It sounds as though there is too much 'bulk' and that is why the curl is pulling out... the weight of the hair can pull the curl...

Try long layers with the top layer shorter than the rest. It will also look good like this if you decide to go straight.

I had the same problem with my hair. When you get out of the shower, try brushing your hair and then scrunching your hair in the towel until the excess water is out of it, then put just a little product on it (focusing on the ends) and blowdry w/ a diffuser. Be sure to use a LOW speed with a HIGH heat.

Hope it works for you, too! =~)

girlfriend i have the smae problem and i have natrul curly hair to but its a great Q um i had curly hair since i was born but know as im getting older its just fading and fading

Most naturally curly hair is as you have described, the best thing you can do without a perm (yes a perm and I do recommend it) would be to hold your hair straight out from your head with your hands, and point a blowdryer with a concentrater directly at the root area (don't burn yourself though). Then the rest should be allowed to dry pretty much naturally with some mousse or leave-in conditioner so it doesn't get all frizzy. Drying the hair like that will add body to the base of the hair. There are also a lot of products that are called "root lifters" that will help to do pretty much the same thing. My friend has the same problem and when I feel like doing her hair extra nice I actually take a curling iron to it.
