If your hair is Natrually Curly......?

If your hair is natrually curly would you cut layers? My hair is at my Bra strap when blown straight, when curly it loses about 2 inches in length. Would you cut some long layers in back? I'm afraid it will get too puffy, anyone with curly hair help!

I have naturally curly hair that is cut in long layers. It looks great. My hair stylist also has naturally curly hair so she knows how to deal with it. In my opinion, the best products are going to be salon quality such as Aveda, Matrix, or Redken. Also, check out curlisto.com. This salon is supposed to be THE curl experts. You can email them a pic of your hair and they'll give you pointers and cut suggestions.

no do not do this...you should get a cut at natural fall which means straight and even...slicing is okay for curly hair it takes off some bulk..no thinning shears or razors..layers take away from the natural curl...please don't do it you will regret it

I have curly hair and I always get long layers. They add volume to my hair. When it's all one length, the hair tends to be weighed down. Good Luck and Best Wishes!!! :)

This probably isnt the best idea for you. It can be done, but you're going to need to see someone very expensive (think 100 bucks for the haircut alone) just to ensure it's the way you want it- and then dependingon how curly your hair is she may talk you out of it. If it's tight curls then it could potentially turn into an afro-like state. If it's softer curls it may look like something from the eighties, (again not very desirable). This website helped me out somewhat when cutting my curly hair and it worked but again I spent a lot of money getting it done by a hairstylist who specialized in cutting curly hair and I bought some quality products too. Good luck.

It may get puffy with too many layers. You can use Mixed Chicks products (http://www.mixedchicks.net) to tame puff and frizz, but be careful about who cuts your curls. If you are in Los Angeles, try Trilogy on Magnolia St (N.Hollywood). They are great.
