Help with my curly hair!!! =)?

I have long curly hair, that can be abit out of control and frizzy. I would like to straighten it, but everytime I do, it ends up looking dry, frizzy and so un-natural. Does anyone know how to straighten hair really well with chepa and easy to find products that dont dry out your hair too much? If you dont know how to do that, then do you know any cute/sexii hairstyles for my long and curly hair? For my questions please answer in detail and in depth. Thanx!!!

I would suggest professional products so I can't say it would be too cheap, but I will give you the cheapest way from someone who has curly hair and managed a hair salon so I have seen some curls come in and straight walk out.

I would get a good shampoo and conditoner kit (not a 2 in one) and I would suggest this time of year going to a Trade Secret they have good deals on sets. Try Sleek looks by matrix that is my fav. and go with the shampoo %26amp; conditoner and then you will ask them about silk therapy from Biosilk. and Laminate spray from Sebastion. Ok you are saying geesh this is expensive. I know! But once you buy it you will have it for a while and it will help fix your hair from being dry. And I have used all kinds of flat irons from the cheapest to the ones priced out of site! I would go with one by the brand name Helon of Troy it is 30 bucks at a Trade Secret and it had been the best one of the ones I have had, I owned a Chi, the paul mitchell straightner, and I don't find they straighten it all the way.

Now with all these products I can tell you that you will have straight hair and make sure it is cut, that will sometimes make it not turn out so great, if you have dead ends that will make it frizz. I would say to get your hands on all this stuff you are looking at about $60 bucks, not sure if you can beg for it for christmas lol :) and one tip if you go with this stuff, heat the flat iron several times before using it, And it will work better, the more you use it the better it is, kinda have to break it in. And start from underneath dont try to do a lot of hair at once.

Ok well goodluck now that I have told you the secret :) I hope you are able to get these products the laminate spray and biosilk are very important put the biosilk on about a dime to quarter size through your hair wet and you will spray one spray on dry hair of the laminate on to the hair before you straighten it and then run the flat iron down it couple times, and you will have straight hair and it will look healthy and not dry. And be careful and don't straighten it too much it will dry it out.

for straight styles, you have to roll the brush repeatedly till strand totally dry the more rotations you do the softer and silkier the hair, use sunsilk the green bottle for frizz it will help. and for beautiful curls remeber to always use mousse to define the curls...but the trick for the best curly hair texture is moisture moisture moisture

Shampooing with shampoo and a bit of mayonnaise actually controls frizzy hair. It really isn't as gross as it sounds and it has worked wonders for me! Another thing that has helped is to put chapstick or other types of lip balm on the roots of your hair.

*Both of these solutions should be used while showering or bathing.

The products i would reccomend would be bed head control freak line.....it has a shampoo and conditioner, a serum/gel like...that you put in the hair yet, a spray called xtra xtra straight which can be applied to wet and dry hair (dry - in moderation) when you put that it sry is calms down most of those frizzy hairs or the ones that just go wild....also get a trim every couple months to keep hair healthy

I always blow dry my hair as straight as I can get it with a claw attachment by holding out my hair in sections and putting the claw in my hair, pointing down with the blow dryer and taking it down my hair slowly. This seems to work a lot quicker than using a round brush, and it seems to get it smoother since you are going down the hair shaft. Then I go over it with my CHI iron. The heat protection products I use are "Make It Straight" by VO5 and "Dangerously Straight" flat out finishing spray by Herbal Essences. Here is a link to a page with the picture of a blow dryer pick (claw) attachment. You can also buy a universal one that fits almost any blow dryer from Sally's Beauty Supply for $5 bucks. I always hated my curly hair but that was just because I didn't know what to do with it, now that I've embraced it, I know how it works! Curly hair looks really cute short and is much more easier to manage than long hair. Maybe try that, your hair won't look dry anymore and when you straighten it it'll look flirtier and much healthier.

Just try it out for a day and if you like it keep it going there is so much you can do with curly hair, go to a natural hair beauty shop and ask them to do it for you. straight hair is over rated go natural. I have naturally curly, thick thick thick hair and I got tired of it and put a relaxer in it, I wish I didn't because it damaged my hair, so know that I am natural again sporting my curly short fro ( I had to cut my hair off) I feel good and am not worried what people say or think, because I am just being me not what evryone eles thinks I should be.

Almost anything is in right now curly is making a come back. When straightening your hair became a big thing I did it every day but now I embrace my curls every now and again. I think of it as a break for my hair cuz straighteneing your hair is stressful for it letting it curl up is a nice every once and a while. I switch back and forth what ever mood I'm in. I am a MALE and I have tight, slighty curly hair. The problem is that my hair looks dull and my hair is curlier in certain spots than others and it looks sorta wierd to me. My hair was the same way when I was like 5, but when I turned 6, it got real dry, coarse, and lost it's texture.

Note: I don't know if genetic info is of any help, but my father's side are east indian mixes and they have curly hair. Most of the guys start out with dry, texture-less hait but ended up VERY curly as they reached their 20s.

When I turned 19 a few yrs ago, myhair became curly again but it's only SLIGHTLY. Is there any kind of mousse or something that can AT LEAST enhance my curls?

As for my hair looking dull, I pretty much know that I will need conditioner or something to treat that problem. How often a week should I use leave in conditioner though? That is my 2nd question.

If anyone has any WORTHWHILE tips on how to treat my hair problem, they will be greatly appreciated.

Well I use Totally Twisted shampoo %26amp; conditioner by Herbal Essence and honestly it worked very well for my hair. It made it curl more and made my curls softer. I love it. It may work differently for different people though. Just try it and see how it works. I also found that washing my hair every 3rd day makes it a lot curlier. I still rinse it and condition it every day but on shampoo at most every other day. good luck! =)

I have extremely curly hair that is also dry and course. I have tried everything on the market for my hair. I have found what works best if Infusium 23 leave in conditioner. I don't know where you live so I don't know what it will cost you but I live in Missouri and it cost me just under $7 for a big bottle that will last me about a month and I have waist length hair. I don't know if the humidity affects your hair but this works great for that also. It will put a shine in your hair and if you kind of bunch your hair with your hands after you put the leave in conditioner in your hair it will enhance your curls and make it look a lot healthier. Brown is not always the dominate color. I have hazel/green eyes and my husband has very dark brown eyes and our daughter turned out with hazel eyes. My friend has bright blue eyes and dark hair and the wife has almost black eyes and blonde hair... their boy turned out with blonde hair and blue eyes. You just never know. Ok, so my friend has really thick curly hair (very frizzy) and needs advice on what kind of style to cut it in. (my own is awfully straight so i'm having trouble helping her out here).. she needs a style for when she leaves it open, in which case she always straightens it. it's only curly when its extremely scrunched and in a ponytail. right now her hair is pretty long, she wants it somewhat shorter but not too much. 1.) You must get a sulfate-free shampoo, as soon as you possibly can....be sure shampoo does not have either SLS Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or sister ALS Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, 2 extremely harsh ingredients...go check the ongredients on your present shampoo. What you are going to want is a super gentle shampoo I recommend 3 and have a list of 20 on the Blog. But am wondering about access to them if you are on the other side of the Atlantic....

I don't know about anti-stress hair treatments but I know how you can make your hair less frizzy:

1. Use conditioner--its essential because it conditions your hair hence conditioner. Put less shampoo, its too harsh for people with curly hair like us.

2. When you take a shower, at the end rinse off your hair with cold water--believe me this works! It doesn't have to be too cold, but like pool water cold.

3. Use gel instead of hair serum, because it will leave your curls tight, but don't comb your hair after you put gel though.

4. Buy a straighter (sedu, chi) because these will leave your hair silky straight for as long as you don't take a shower!

Try a curl relaxer from Redken. It works fairly well for some types of curly hair. It will slightly relax your curls and make them less fuzzy. Or, instead of straightening it completely, try making the curls bigger with a curling iron. Just pull your hair completely taught, and then roll your hair around the barrel in the direction of your natural curls.Use a 2 or 3 inch barrel curling iron.You could also try an "Inside out braid." It works well for thick hair. (If your hair is long enough.)

Straightening curly hair...?

I have curly hair, and i like it curly, but i want to wear it straight every now and then. Is there a way to straighten my hair for the day?

I have a conair straightener, it isn't super great, but it's what i got. I take my shower the night before school starts, then in the morning it is a bit damp, i only need to wake up 30 minutes before i have to go... is there a way to fit it into my usual routine?

I'd say shower when you get home from school, let your hair dry mostly naturally and if it's still damp then blow dry it (always going down the hair, never up) and then use a protection spray and straighten it at night. Then in the morning, brush it and just neaten it up. That's what I do, my hair is really long and quite curly but it's straightens out well like that. I have GHDs but yours should still work. Also I use John Frieda Frizz-Ease Secret Weapon for any fly aways =) Good luck!

1)Try getting a straightening balm, or other hair product, that you can get at a drugstore for really cheap.

2)Also, try blow drying your hair, with a thick bristol brush, and as your drying, brush your hair straight. It will deffinitly help to make it straighter.

3)Try straightening your hair before bed.Let it totally cool off before going to bed. Then, when you wake up, you just have to touch it up. And, your not in a rush. Thats what i do!

You can get a straightening lotion from any drug store, then section off your hair and straighten it in smaller sections.

It may take awhile but you should be able to do it in 20 minutes if not less.

Try infusium 23, that stuff does wonders for your hair. They have shampoo, conditioner and leave in treatment. I just use the leave in treatment and it makes my hair really soft and manageable. I have used other products and nothing else is like infusium. What i do is get a spray bottle and fill it half full of water and half of the leave in treatment and spray it in my hair. But you dont have to dilute it, up to you. Another thing that will really help is getting your hair trimmed every three months, make sure you have all the split ends trimmed off as though. Cutting split ends is very important--do it often.

Try several conditioners. Different things work better for different people, you will just have to try and see what works for you. Try each one for about two weeks, and remember the results. You should eventually find one that works very well.

However, I know a woman who hasn't cut her hair since 1960, and it hangs to the middle of her back. Her hair just won't grow any longer. It's possible yours has reached its limit.

I have curly hair and I despise it :( and it's really dry as well. I started using Garnier Fructice "sleek and shine" CONDITIONER (the shampoo is good too, but the conditioner moisturizes your hair). It helps my hair not get tangled both in the shower and afterwards when I brush it out and dry it. If I use anything else besides Garnier my hair is impossibly tangly (unless it's a SUPER THICK really nice conditioner). Hope this helps.

well i also have long curly hair and what i can advice you is trim the ends every 4 weeks or earlier if really dry.use a moisturizing mask once a week preferably one that has amino acids and dont use anything on your hair that has alcohol, it only dries it out more.vitamins u can take are biotin and drink alot of milk.

I've not had to deal with this telogen but what I've read, You should have regrowth in 3 months and it should come back with the original condition it was before it left.

I have naturally curly hair and if I knew that it would grow back within a week, I would go bald, just to say I did.

I think it would be cute. Some girls / women who are bald due to cancer, are very beautiful people.

Also, this telogen affects people of all ages.

I've heard brushing or combing your hair while wet is a big no-no but when you have curly hair and brush it dry it tends to turn into a big frizz ball instead of natural looking ringlets and curls.

The only way I've figured out how to deal with this dilemma is by brushing my hair in the shower while conditioner is it. The comb glides through my hair and when dried naturally I get all curl instead of frizz.

Oh no! Don't. It breaks it off. Instead, get a wide toothed COMB and comb through it while wet. Then mosturize a lot.

There really is no way to stop the shedding all together, but there is ways to lessen the amount. What I do for my curly hair is brush it in the shower while there is conditioner in it. However instead of using a brush, I usually use my fingers, spreading them wide. This way, my hair is still getting untangled, but I'm keep less hair in my drain. Also with using your fingers, you can be extra gentle. Besides brushing your hair while it's wet is very risky because wet hair is very fragile therefor when you brush it, it snaps easily leading to fizz, etc. You can always use an extremely wide comb, but it's hard to find one wide enough, but if you do, you are good to go.
